Closings and Cancellations - COVID-19

Here are the latest local closings and cancellations related to the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency:

Perry County Schools are CLOSED until April 1. Schools across the state have been requested closed at the direction of the Governor.

SCHOOLS: Free Breakfast and lunch will continue for all children under the age of 18 in Perry County, TN by The National School Breakfast / Lunch Program. Just come to Linden Elementary, Lobelville School, Linden Middle School, or Perry County High School this week from 8- 10 am. Go to any school that is closest and convenient for pick up.


Town of Linden: City hall lobby is CLOSED. Customers are urged to use online bill payment, and the drop box. All city services continue and officials are reporting to work.


Commodities distribution for Perry County has been canceled for March 24th, according to South Central Human Resources.


Blooming Arts Festival POSTPONED until June 5th and 6th.

Buffalo River Springfest cancelled.


The Perry County Clerk is encouraging citizens to utilize the many application and renewal services that can be completed online at TN.gov. The office encourages citizens to renew basic services via the internet, Lobelville City Hall kiosk, or by mail at this time. Citizens are welcome to call the office for assistance, as they do remain open for now. Driver's license renewals have been suspended, and tag renewals have been given a grace period through July.


The libraries in Perry County are temporarily closed to the public due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Staff is on hand to respond to your questions and fill your requests for books and DVDs. Please call the library in advance to request materials: in Linden 931-589-5011, in Lobelville 931-593-3111. Arrange to pick up the materials at a designated time. When you arrive, your materials will be handed to you through the door.


Flatwoods Volunteer Fire Department has postponed the upcoming fish fry. The next fish fry will take place in May.


The Perry County Veterans Service Office is closed to walk-ins until further notice appointments can be scheduled by contacting Kenny Belew at 931-306-2691


The Perry County Historical Society will not meet on Monday, March 23.



Churches


-Lobelville First Baptist, services suspended until April 5. Online streams will be available.

-Linden Church of God, services cancelled on Wednesday, March 18 as well as Sunday, March 22.

-Linden Church of Christ services cancelled 3/25.

-Lighthouse Assembly of God will be closed Wed. 18th and Sunday 22nd. Will be on facebook live.

-Lobelville Church of Christ, CLOSED until further notice.

-Tom's Creek Baptist CLOSED until April 5th.

-Lobelville Methodist CLOSED for the next 2 weeks.

-The Flatwoods Church of Christ services for Sunday, March 22 have been cancelled.


Businesses:

-First Bank limits access: Due to concerns and risk of Coronavirus COVID-19, we are temporarily suspending our branch lobby hours until further notice. Our branches remain open and are available by appointment, Drive-Thru, ATM, Mobile and Online Banking and 24-7 Telephone Banking. -Perry County Senior Center and South Central Transportation Information. THE PERRY CO. SENIOR & RECREATION CENTERS will be CLOSED from March 18th thru March 31st. Hopefully to reopen on April 1st. TRANSPORTATION is still running daily for now, so persons still needing rides can call to schedule a ride at 931-589-5111.


-General Hardware Chick Sale will continue, however no door prizes or food will be distributed as part of the event.


-WOPC Studios CLOSED to the public until further notice.
